About · Maresfield, East Sussex
Over 20 years. One standard of workmanship.
A Maresfield building firm working for homeowners and commercial clients across East and West Sussex.
Our story
Built on the tools, run by a bricklayer.
Matthew Bradford started the business over 20 years ago, after years working in the building trade. The firm has grown into a team of qualified, experienced tradesmen, based in Maresfield and working across East and West Sussex.
We work for homeowners who want an extension done once and done properly, and for commercial clients such as Marston’s who need a crew that keeps to programme. Both get the same thing: honest estimates, straight communication and brickwork we are proud to put our name to.
How we work
The things we won’t compromise on
Price it straight
A written estimate that explains the numbers. If something changes on site, you hear about it before it costs you.
Keep you informed
Regular updates through the project, so you always know what happens next and when.
Match what’s there
Brick, bond and mortar matched to the existing building, so an extension looks like it was always meant to be there.
Leave it tidy
A clean, safe site, with your home and garden treated with care from the first day to the last.

Garden and patio redesign
Matt was able to discuss our patio and garden plans with us and and put them in to reality.
The end result is everything we had hoped for, we're really pleased with the result. We now have an eye-catching low maintenance garden.
We also had the house wall repointed.
Reliable and great work
Great work, great communication, sorted out the problem quickly and no fuss, even when the job expanded beyond what we agreed. Result is better than we had originally. Very pleased.
Great work, on time, tidy and well priced.
Excellent job, turned up on time, did a great job exactly as agreed, left the job tidy and charged as quoted. I will definitely use them again.
Brick soldier course for lintel above window
Looked at pics and assessed the job, came to quote. Saw that it was urgent, as my replacement window couldn’t be fitted as the lintel was close to collapse. Matt booked in the job for the next day and 2 of his guys did the work. All very professional.
Superb Brickwork, Highly Recommended
The brickwork on our new‑build barn‑annex, including the chimney stack and a one‑metre perimeter wall, was completed to a superb standard. The team kept the site consistently tidy, worked with real pride, and showed genuine passion for the craft. Everyone was polite, respectful, and easy to deal with, making the whole process smooth from start to finish. Highly recommended for reliable, quality brickwork.
Repointing & bricks replacement of townhouse
Mr Bradford provided a very competitive quote for re-pointing and replacement of damaged bricks of my sea-facing townhouse. The work was completed very professionally in a timely fashion. I am happy to recommend him.
Update to front steps
Matt and his team completed some work on our front steps. The work was carried out exactly as discussed and to a very high standard. We would definately be using for future work.
Patio extension
Matt and his fab team recently extended my patio. It was just what I had in mind - the slabs matched perfectly and shingle was added by the fence so it matched existing work. They also tidied up like nothing ever happened. Amazing. Would highly recommend. Thank you!
